Born in Big Babanki (Kedjom Keku) in Mezam Division, he has dedicated his career to building inclusive institutions, advancing human rights, and fostering economic self-reliance for marginalized groups. A visually impaired leader, Samuel has transformed personal experience into a platform for community advocacy, serving as a prominent voice for disability rights and accessible governance across the region.
Over more than three decades of civic and public leadership, Samuel has founded and led several transformative civil society organizations. In 2003, he established the Hope Social Union for the Visually Impaired, followed by co-founding the Coordinating Unit of Associations of Persons with Disabilities (CUAPWD) in 2005. His dedication to public service extends to local government, having served a seven-year tenure as an elected Municipal Councilor for the Tubah Council, where he advocated for inclusive development and community accessibility. A versatile professional, he also operates a traditional bamboo and rattan cane-weaving craft workshop in Bamenda and has served as a part-time lecturer at the Rehabilitation Training Center of Excellence with CBC Health Services.
Samuel continues to drive systemic change, proving that resilience and adaptive vision are powerful instruments for societal transformation.
